PRODUCT CARE AND MAINTENANCE

A few minutes spent every now and then carrying out simple maintenance on your doors and windows will be time well invested. You’ll be helping to ensure optimum working performance and lasting good looks.

  • The surfaces of aluminium and UPVC products should be cleaned only with a solution of washing up liquid and warm water. Abrasive cleaning agents or materials must not be used.
  • All apertures, cills and tracks, should be inspected to ensure that debris and dust is not allowed to accumulate, as it may cause damage. It’s also important to keep drainage slots clear.
  • All moving parts, such as locks, levers, stays, hinges, espagnolettes and patio door rollers should remain lubricated with a professional Silicone Spray. This is particularly necessary if these components are infrequently used or are;
  • Exposed to sea air or a chemically-contaminated atmosphere.
  • External surfaces of hardwood frames and doors require a protective coat of approved preservative at regular intervals to prevent deterioration.
  • Internal surfaces of white aluminium or UPVC may discolour due to continued exposure to excess cigarette smoke or cooking fumes. In such instances, you should seek advice before employing any chemical substances or abrasives to restore the original colour as it is possible to harm the product or rubber gaskets.

FAILURE TO CARRY OUT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE MAY PREJUDICE THE PROTECTION OFFERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY.
